Free Legal Helpline and Free Initial Consultation Terms and Conditions
Any information, comments or guidance provided through our free legal helpline and free initial consultation service relates solely to the law of England and Wales and is provided for general informational purposes only.
Our free legal helpline and free initial consultation service is intended to provide initial guidance only, based upon the limited information made available to us during your enquiry. Its purpose is to identify potential legal issues, outline possible options to explore and provide general observations about your case. It is not intended to provide a full review of your case, evidence, documentation or limitation, nor is it a substitute for detailed legal advice.
Any information provided through our free legal helpline and free consultation service is necessarily general in nature and is given without a full investigation of the facts, consideration of all relevant circumstances, or detailed review of supporting documents and evidence. We are therefore unable to provide definitive legal advice through this service.
While you may choose to provide documents in support of your enquiry, we would ask that such documents are kept to a minimum and not exceed10 pages. Our free legal helpline and free initial consultation service does not include a comprehensive review of documents, correspondence, evidence bundles, court papers, expert reports, witness statements, or other supporting material. Any documents submitted may be reviewed only to the extent that we consider necessary and reasonably practicable for the purpose of providing an initial assessment. The submission of documents to us does not oblige us to review them, nor should it be taken as an indication that we have done so.
If a detailed review of documents, evidence, legal issues or the merits of a case is considered to be required, this will ordinarily fall outside the scope of our free legal helpline and free consultation service
and may only be undertaken pursuant to a formal retainer, either on a fee-paying basis or under a Conditional Fee Agreement.
Definitive legal advice can only be provided after a formal retainer has been entered into, appropriate client due diligence and conflict checks have been completed, and we have reviewed all relevant facts, documents and evidence.
No solicitor-client relationship, retainer, duty of care, contractual relationship or obligation to act is created by any contact with, or use of, our legal helpline service. Any information provided through the legal helpline does not constitute legal advice and should not be relied upon as such.
If you wish to formally instruct us, please let us know and we will provide details of our terms of business and any associated costs. We will only be regarded as acting on your behalf once a formal retainer has been agreed and accepted.
If you do not formally instruct us, we strongly recommend that you obtain independent legal advice from a suitably qualified solicitor before taking, or refraining from taking, any action in relation to the matters discussed.
Whilst we endeavour to provide accurate and up-to-date information, we make no representation or warranty as to the completeness, accuracy or suitability of any information provided through the legal helpline service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all liability for any loss, damage, costs or expenses (whether direct, indirect or consequential) arising from or connected with any reliance placed upon information or commentary provided through the legal helpline service.
Nothing in these terms and conditions excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.
Unfortunately, matters which in our opinion are likely to fall within the jurisdiction of the Small Claims Court fall outside the scope of this free legal helpline and free initial consultation service.
